I have been trying for over a year to get a loan modification. With no other choice, about 3 or 4 months ago I agreed to the Obama Plan, knowing that my financial situation was rapidly changing. I agreed over the phone to accept that plan, however I never signed any paperwork or paid the proposed amount as it became too much money for me, as my financial situation has drastically changed, and my only choice was (with both mortgages) to pay roughly $1800.00 a month, or give up my house, at the time, I thought I was going to have to give it up. Since things have changed, I called a few weeks ago and spoke to a representative. I explained to her that my current situation has changed as such; I have not received child support medical/insurance money in well over a year, which amounts to about $500-$600 a month. My ex husband is a mortgage broker and claims he has no business (but he has already remarried and divorced, adding another child to support to his monthly bills). He told me he would go back to court and lower my support entirely if I pursued it any further. The second thing that has changed is I now have my father added for 6 months of the year as a dependent. He does not pay for food so that went up almost $75 per week, and he doesn't pay utilities (he's home all day and must have a/c as we live in FL) or rent. In addition, my prior automobile would have cost more to fix. This I found out after dumping over $3,500 into it. So now I have a $500 a month car payment, and the insurance went up to $200 a month rather than the old payment of $125. And finally, my medical insurance at work has gotten worse. Our co-pays went from $20 to $35, ER care from $100 to $150. I have 2 specialist doctors that I must see once a month, my son sees an ENT specialist regularly, and I have 3 prescriptions a month to fill totaling almost $325 (we must meet a certain amount for each family member on the plan... I believe it is $250 per person.) The representative took all of this new information down and came back with a new monthly figure of around $1075. I was ecstatic! I was going to be able to keep my house!! The representative told me that she would need to speak to her supervisor and get back to me, since they had set up the Obama program prior, even though I didn't make any payments or complete any paperwork on it. Wednesday came and went, so I called to find out what had happened. The person I talked to since the lady I had spoken to before wasn't there, told me that she\'d already spoken to a supervisor, and I could not do anything with my situation except fill out the loan modification paperwork, (which I'm assuming this is since I am unable to find any other) and it would be up to the underwriter to decided if he/she wanted to grant me the new figure of $1075 a month or not. Or not... that is a lot of power one person has. And my little boy and I are counting on this one person's decision so we aren\'t out on the street and can keep our little home. I am asking, begging for this information to be considered! All of this negative financial burden I now have happened AFTER I had locked in what the male representative had told me was my only option. Please allow me the opportunity to continue to be a home owner and prove that I can, once again, maintain a positive, up to date account.
