We built a new home a year ago. We were unable to sell our old home so we have been struggling trying to pay $3000 per month in mortgage payments. We have recently rented our old house out but did not do it in time from being served forclosure papers on our new home.

I had unexpected expenses that threw my household budget off track which caused me to fall behind on my mortgage, car loans and utilities. I\'ve been playing catch up since the beginning of 2007. Ultimately, after falling 3 payments behind with my mortgage company, they decided to move forward with filing for foreclosure. I fell behind as a result of vehicle repair expenses that ate into my budget. I have solid employment but need to just get caught up.

My husband lost his job, we were advised to file chapter 13. My son was dx with a brain tumor, was off work fell behind on payments, and the bankruptsy was dismissed. I have good monthly income but bad credit and no way to come up with the amount behind. My son is fine. I am back to work with good income, my husband is working. I just need a way to get the arrears caught up, I can afford monthly payments but the mortgage co. will not work with us unless we can come up with 12,000.

I was laid off last year, which made me behind in payments. then it was hard to catch up, plus more and more fees were adding up. We called Ocwen and gave them our financial information, The only payment arrangement we were offered was that we had to pay $600 and then back payments would be broken down and added to now due payments, (They even charged us a fee to set up the payment arrangement and a late fee for every month we are behind untill we caught up with this plan.) which made our payment become over $800. We did not want to lose our house, so we took the arrangement. Now our interest rate has gone up, and our payments will be over $900. On November 30th we received papers stating they (Ocwen ) have filed for foreclosure. We have two children and will do anything we can not to lose our home.
I started working for the boilermakers union about a month ago, and will be making more money than before. I just sent an $840 payment on Nov 20th, and will send more from my next pay.
Any help with my situation would be greatly appreciated. We just want to rectify this situation and keep our home.
As for the back payments owed, my last statement says actual payments, interest, escrow is $3618.50. When they add on all of the fees and late charges it is a total of $5149.76 As I stated, I have recently changed to a much better job; if I could get Ocwen to stop the foreclosure and set up some kind of arrangement that was more realistic, I see no trouble with my family being able to keep up on our payments. Ocwen is our mortage company.
