I lost my then current job @ 2-years ago. I am currenntly working as a crew leaderfor the Census Bureau. As this work will be ending, I continue to seek permanent employment. I am a real estate agent my business and the market where I current reside has become very fickled. My husband and I filed Chapter 13 bankruptcy in the Middle District of Alabama. In March, we modified the plan to add 2 mortgage payments onto the plan which increased our monthly payments to $165.00 per week. We got behind on our April payment and I went to talk to our attorney and he said we could modify our plan to add this payment and he said we could go ahead and add 2 payments. I also lost my job in October. This is the main reason I asked the attorney to amend our plan payment. We have received today a 20-day demand letter from attorneys for Wells Fargo to cure the 2 payments we are now behind. I sent a cashier's check for June payment but they want April and May payment and late charges by 20days from date of notice. We don't want to lose our home. I am devastated. What can we do to keep our home? Do we have to come up with all the arrears? When we filed our Chapter 13 I was working full time and bringing home a good salary as well as my husband, but I lost my job in October. I drew some unemploymnet for a while and we just kept on payment 100% plan payments of $165.00 per week but when unemployment stopped the end of April we got behind on our mortgage payment for April and May. I am still not working. I has gone to our attorney to see if anything he can do because an order was signed back in April which allows the attorneys to send us a 20-day default letter and then we have to pay all or automatic stay is lifted.
