We bought the house in January, and shortly thereafter I found myself unemployed due to "corporate restructuring"; we had some money saved and continued to make payments. It wasn't until 6 months later that I was gainfully employed again, and by that time almost all the other bills and loans we had needed caught up, and we missed a couple of payments. Unfortunately, the six months of unemployment depleted all our reserves. We contacted Bank of America, and they recommended a repayment option, spread out over 9 months to make up for the missed payments. What could we do but agree?  We were unaware that during the ENTIRE repayment plan timeline, BofA was going to dock our credit every month. The repayment plan set up in September was on the very edge of our financial capability, so when winter rolled in we got slammed with the realization that part of the house is not insulated, and from November until April we spent $500+ every 4 weeks to warm the house. So it became a matter of heating the house, or paying the mortgage. So in Feb we contacted Bank of America and restructured the repayment plan. We struggled to make the payments from Feb until Sept, and missed a couple more. In Sept, Bank of America recommended another repayment plan, and this time the monthly due amount was WELL beyond our financial ability, and I tried to explain this to the Bank of America representative, but she would not listen. Not able to make the payments, we started examining other options; selling, foreclosure, etc.. We also started looking for a place to rent, but we discovered that no one would rent to us since our credit scores had been demolished. Selling seemed unlikely since by that time house prices were dropping badly in our area, and we wouldn't be able to at least break even. In January Started working with company out of California to help us do a loan modification with Bank of America. They recommended making no more payments  in an attempt to "make it look more desperate". We took their advice. By April Bank of America declared that they will NOT do a loan modification since, by Wells Fargo "standards", we were not current on the loan.  The house is slated for Sheriff Sale auction on July 25, and we STILL have not been able to find a place to rent since due to our credit scores.

Wife lost her job back in October.  I contacted Bank of America right away because i knew we were going to get behind with a loss of income.  Bank of America refused to help unless we were three months behind.  During this time my wife took a job at my employer as a phone rep making 8.00 an hour.  We were still coming up short.  I was actively seeking a better paying job.  Meanwhile, the current employer's health insurance payments went from 200 bi-weekly to 350 bi-weekly.  Gas went up...  I was taking severe hits.  With three kids at home, I had to keep the lights on and food in the fridge.  I found a better paying job and could now afford the payments if these crooked mortgage companies would just pull their heads out of their rear ends and offer some sincere help!  Once i was three months behind, I applied for a loan modification.  Bank of America approved the modification.  The analyst at Bank of America drug her feet signing off on it and the loan was tranfered to American Mortgage Servicing Inc (Formerly Option One).  I am now 4 months behind, they refuse to take a partial payment and want 10k or nothing.  I thought AMSI was going to help at first... spoke with someone, set up a repayment plan, signed it and faxed it back only to find out that they made a \"mistake\" and will not honor the agreement I signed.  Now they say I will have to apply for a new loan modification which can take up to 60 days - meanwhile more interest and late fees accrue... It makes no sense... i asked for help, they drug their feet and him hawed.  It's no wonder banks are falling!  i found a much better paying job.  My wife is babysitting at home as a supplimental income.  With my better job, it is not as critical for her to work \"full time\" as long as she is making something, it helps.

the loan originated with Equity One and was bought out by Bank of America.  I refinanced in August of the previous year thinking this was my only option to try and make ends meet. I am disabled and became so after them original loan date. I receive $1500.00 monthly SSD and my payment is $1600.00 my wife does work but its nearly impossible to make ends meet. I draw $1500.00 monthly. This money comes every month with a lower payment I could make on time payments with ease and still afford utilities. We need help with a Bank of America Loan modification

I have diligently tried to work with this mortgage company!! when I refinanced my home and was unfortunately scammed by the Sub Prime Lenders by falsifying my yearly income I could not afford the payments as my wife got laid off and I tried sending them as much as I could but they would never accept half of a payment!! My mortgage ballooned up to over $2,000 a month. I gave power of attorney to my parents after I tried a short sale that fell through. My parents loaned me money where I  paid them over $2,000 and almost $4,000 in which they  took (I have canceled checks). I have wrote them 2 hardship letters and also offered in my last hardship letter I could pay them what I owe in which was a rediculous $30,000 and to re-finance my mortgage to $1,000 or so to negotiate ,plus the $3,000 for property taxes. They wouldn't compromise or budge an inch !! So I finally got a letter from the bank as a motion of final judgment of foreclosure and taxation of attorney's fees and costs. I have pleaded with this company and explained this is under different circumstances!! this is an epidemic effecting the entire countries economy!! The government is slowly trying to get in further but they are asking mortgage companies to work with home owners!! I have 2 kids and my wife and I have has other mortgages before and they are all paid in full. Nothing has changed, its like a waiting game and they don't have any sympathy at all.
The mortgage company is Bank of America. Please help me modify my Bank of America Loan.

I lost income from a second work that I had and my wife doesn't work, we have never missed a payment or been late, but this month we barely had the money to make the payment, I recently received notice of a "possible restructuring" at the company where I work, and I just want to plan things ahead of time...
Please help. It is about to change, who knows, with this economy...

My husband and I bought this house two months before we were married in 2007.  It was worth at the time 320,000, but we bought it for 300,000.  Now I think it appraises for 220,000-250,000? Maybe even less. My Husband's family business went bankrupt two months after we were married, he decided to try and open a new business with his sister, which she did not pay him for six months and he only brought home 16,000 dollars for the year of 2008.  I am a registered nurse so fortunately I can work overtime to pick up extra money, Though for all of 2008 and this year so far, I have had to work 5 twelve hour shifts a week, that's 120 hours in a two week period.  I am tired and cannot go on like this forever.  My house is not in foreclosure and I am current on my payments, but, am in desperate need of an answer to lower my mortgage, since my husband is now going to school and we are surviving on my income alone.
